Requesting a refund from Apple
Who has your money?
Apple is the retailer. When you subscribe through the App Store, you pay Apple directly, and indi never receives your card or billing details.
That means we can’t refund these charges ourselves. We have no way to reverse an App Store payment, so the request goes to Apple.
How to request a refund
Apple handles these requests online.
- Go to the portal. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in. Use the Apple ID that was charged.
- Choose an option. Tap I’d like to… and select Request a refund.
- Choose a reason. Pick the one that fits, then tap Next.
- Find the charge. Select the indi subscription charge.
- Submit. Apple reviews the request and usually replies by email within a day or two.
Troubleshooting
The charge is pending
If the charge shows as pending on your bank statement or in Apple’s portal, you can’t request a refund yet. Wait for it to clear, usually about 24 hours, and the refund option will appear.
I don’t see the charge
You may be signed in with a different Apple ID. Check your receipt email to see which address was billed.
Apple declined my refund
Apple makes the decision, so we can’t overturn it. You can appeal through the same Report a Problem portal.
I deleted my indi account and I’m still being charged
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription, because Apple bills it. To stop future charges, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then indi, and tap Cancel Subscription. Then request a refund for any charge after you deleted, using the steps above.
Our refund policy
Our Refund Policy explains how cancellations, plan changes and credits work for every way you can subscribe.
